Bear Analytics Data Analyst

Bear Analytics is a start-up consulting firm focused on bringing the promise of data analytics to event producers, trade associations and professional societies. We deliver customized solutions dedicated to analyzing and visualizing the information our clients already collect, and use customer and organizational data to improve audience experiences across membership, events, and communities.  We provide our clients the tools and insights to operate more efficiently and effectively.

The Bear Analytics HQ is located in the 1776 start-up incubator in Crystal City, VA, where we work alongside some of the DMV’s most innovative start-up companies. Come join us, we’d love to learn more about you!

Are you a data ninja?  This position will conduct and lead sections of data analyses with guidance from the Bear team.  This includes the development of new methodologies to answer ad-hoc client questions and work with the product development team to streamline analysis features.  We are looking for someone with strong SQL and data manipulation skills with the ability to cut through the noise, who can generate ideas to solve data problems and deploy the technical skills to help our team, and our clients, arrive at meaningful conclusions.

This position will focus on the core fundamentals of working with data and as a consultant.  From aggregating information and shaping incoming data, to auditing data quality, mapping workflows, designing or improving data analysis processes, even to helping to synthesize data findings and recommendations for a non-technical audience.

We’re a small and agile team, so we’re looking for someone who has taken a team data approach before.  It’s not enough to arrive at the right answer alone mathematically—you must be able to discuss your findings and approach with other team members and understand how to scale and document your analysis process.

If you’re interested in working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you can flex your brain and make a difference – let’s do this.

Also – we never wear suits.  Think about it.
